Why do I suddenly feel this particular urge to say the famous Imperial maxim of “Burn the heretic, kill the mutant, purge the unclean”? Particularly when I don’t believe in it (then again, Daemons? My kind of quarry…)
Someone has to remind Clive that one never ceases to be a geek. Either you hide it, you shift your specialization, or you become a traitor to the cause. And someone has to remind the HR woman that, if she knows every single bit of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills/Orange County/Whatever you want”, she’s a geek. Or if she sees too many dramas, or too many TV series.
Because, in order to NOT be a geek, you can’t be passionate. Waaaaait…
Perhaps, but that would have given the punchline away too early, I think. You would have wondered, “Why is he wearing a suit and tie to talk about RPG experience?” But wearing his usual clothes it just seems like he’s talking with Nelson or Lewis, and the surprise in the last panel has that much more impact.
Right, you’d go with a buttoned shirt, something different, but not enough to make you say, “That’s the wrong gear for RPG talk. WHAT AREN’T YOU TELLING ME?”
This sounds disturbingly familiar… And from both ends…
Oh god, now I’m seeing the newspaper want ads as LFG shouts in an MMO…

Job Interview? well done frank!
He could’ve at least worn appropriate clothes to a job interview. Negative modifiers for the outfit alone.

Just saying.
There’s an interview acceptable middle ground between t-shirt and suit and tie, depending on the job at least.

If he were talking with his group, we’d see the whole group. I got more a feel that he was talking to other people anyway. He’s so earnest looking.
Is there a way to share this strip? The vizualization of the hiring process is on the spot… This should be posted to all hiring websites 😛
“Used to be…?” Once a Geek, Always a Geek!
Agreeing with all of the above, this one really encapsulates a lot.
Staggering in it’s applicability and implications.
*facepalm*
Yeah, I’ve held interviews that pretty much went like this. Especially since the MMO surge.
GLF2M java DPS devs, must gear PVT
I’m LOL thinking they must have asked him “What kind of experience do you have”
